Alberti 154 is the street address for this tiny, off the beaten path, well-kept secret. Ca' de Calle means "House of Calle," named in honor of the winery founder, the late Ms. Elvira Calle, a famous businesswoman who owned the most important newspaper in Mendoz and ended her life as a prominent philanthropist. The winery concentrates on varietal wines and premium red blends sourced from the viticultural areas where the varietal in question grows best. All wines are made with the use of gravity and are never pumped to deliver the grapes to the fermentation tank. All grapes are farmed without the use of herbicides or pesticides, are hand picked and sorted and vinified using native yeasts, which results in a more gradual fermentation curve and less intervention with refrigeration. Bodega Calle operates a certified organic winery and the wines are GMO free. Kirk Ermisch is the principal owner.
