Diablo de Uco

About:
Horacio and Silvina Bossi started Diablo de Uco Wines with two American partners, Jeff Farnath and Mark Turner in 1997 after first becoming good friends and then discovering their shared passion for Argentine wine. Jeff and Mark lived and worked in Argentina during the vineyard's early years and now live in the United States handling marketing and distribution. Horacio and Silvina are natives of Argentina and oversee the vineyard and winery operations today from their home in Argentina. The partners have a long term commitment to making world class wines and hope to succeed in introducing the best of Argentina's winemaking history and future to a select group of people that share a passion for great new wines.

The Legend:
The Uco Valley in Mendoza, Argentina is legendary for the wicked weather that can quickly descend from the peaks of the Andes mountains. Local legend says the weather is the work of Diablo de Uco (Devil of the Uco Valley). Sudden and violent thunderstorms dance throughout the valley during the summer months and although sometimes dangerous, they keep this beautiful region green, cool and fertile.
