Red Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Syrah, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Petit Verdot.

White Varieties: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier

Soil: Rocky / alluvial.

Altitude: 1150 m.

Trellis: Vertical with 2.3 m. between rows and 1 m. to 2.04 m. between plants depending on varieties.Drip irrigated from 90m deep well .

ll Basso wines are made at the artisan Vi–a Amalia winery, fully restored in 1997. With a total capacity of about 300,000 liters, this family-run winery is dedicated to producing small lots of quality wine for South America, Europe and the United States.

The Basso family has been active in the local wine industry since 1922. They were the original owners of the "Santa Ana" winery, one of the largest and most important wineries in Argentina. During 61 years, Santa Ana was run by the Basso family.

In 1996, the Basso family sold the winery to the Chilean company, Santa Carolina.
